First Entry

So, this is the first entry, as it can be plainly seen. But, let's get this started.

I haven't exactly started my transition as far as it goes medically. I'm still trying to get the time, and of course, the money to do so. Transition isn't cheap. Besides surgery, hormones would take a pretty big chunk out of my money. But, let's talk about surgical transition for a minute.

Depending on who you go to, top surgery (which is, in some cases, a bilateral mastectomy) can be $8000... and that doesn't even cover travel expenses. And, of course, this is a major surgery, so you're going to need a place to stay for at least a week post-op.

Hormones, of course, are another thing all together. Injectables are expensive, unless you get them from a compounding pharmacy. Then, they're about a third of what they normally cost at someplace like Rite-Aid. $100+ is way too much to pay for two injections. Patches are kinda not worth it, since they can cause all sorts of irritation from the adhesive.  And, of course there is the gel. That can be a little... uh, not worth it either. And besides, there have been reports of hair growing on the palms of guys who apply the stuff. There's also residue that can get on surfaces and be transmitted to other people who touch it.

Of course, things aren't all bad. Don't take it as if it's all hard and shit. I mean, there are good points to transition. The psychological impact is major. To finally be who you've always seen yourself is amazing. There's really nothing else like it. And, yes, the surgery hurts, the hormones are expensive, and you'll likely be set back like nothing in the world, but at the end of the day, it's all worth it.

Yeah. For sure.

If you get a script, it shouldn't be that hard to bring the price of injectables down. It's certainly doable.

hey, I need to correct you about somthing

$100 for injectables sounds like alot but in all actuallity, it covers on average about 10 shots.. which for most guys last anywhere from four to six months. So it really isn't that expensive considering.
